To See your Pet(s), how they're
feeling, what level they are, their defense levels, if they're sick,
etc., you just need to click on their name just under your user name on
the left hand side navigation bar. That'll take you to your pets
statistics page.
Feeding your
pet
For the most part ... your pet can thrive nicely by
eating the free omelettes and jelly. But every once in a while ..
they deserve a special treat. You can even become part of the gourmet
food club.

Playing with
your pet
Get your pet lots of toys and play with them! It
raises their moods and makes them happier pets in general. Beware tho,
your pets can break some of the different toys.
Petpets for
your pet
You can give your pet a petpet. There are loads to
choose from too .. They can be bought in the petpet shops throughout
Neopia, but they are often less expensive when purchased from a user shop
(use the shop wizard to find your best prices). In addition, there's
such a thing as a petpet pet .. where your petpet will have a (sometimes
nuisance) pet tacked on to it. Petpet pets are random events .. but you
can buy them from user shops as well.

Healing your
pet
When your pet comes down with some awful neodisease ..
try not to freak out ... and don't waste your neopoints by buying the
specific medicines that will cure the disease (they can be ridiculously
expensive) .. Just take your pet to the FaerieLand
Healing Springs Faerie. It may take a few times before the faerie
heals it, just keep taking it back to her every few hours.

Grooming your
pet
ok .. so it's not totally necessary to keep
your pet completely groomed .. but it's a nice thing to do for them.
Some pets have grooming items made specifically for their breed. Others
can get along with the 'basic brands'.

Training your
pet
If you plan on taking your pet into the Battledome ..
you will need to prepare it for battle. Go to the training schools and
academies to see the costs to train them. It's also good if you arm them
with the proper weapons. Some breeds have specific weapons that only
they can use, but there a loads of weapons available that any of the
pets can use. The Battlepedia
has a list of all the weapons. Some of the items are SO rare that
their descriptions can't even be found in the Battlepedia. You'll have
to find out about those yourself! :)
TRAINING TIPS: When it comes to training: No statistic (strength,
defense, speed, endurance) can be more than twice your pets current 'level'
.... if it is you will only be allowed to train in level. The most important stats are strength and HP's
(hitpoints) and you want these to be as high as you can get them (or at
least twice your level). Your defense is less important and should be about the same as your level.
I *think* speed currently doesn't effect/help your pet in the dome.. so
you really don't need to train in speed. The cost of your training is based on your
level.
Pets you create start out at a level one (sometimes you can find a pet
at the pound with high stats). As your pet increases in level they will learn new skills that they can use in the
Battle dome... these skills are different for each species. You can also
earn general skills (available to all species) from the bottled faeries
(or spell faeries) .. Spell
faeries may bless a strong Neopet, but if it is too
inexperienced then the faerie will just fly away when you release it. A
list of these abilities can be found on the Ability
Descriptions page. To see what abilities your pet has, go to Pet
Abilities. Whenever you get a new ability from a bottled faerie
go to the 2nd link and click on the ability to make it active in the battle dome.
The species specific abilities will activate themselves.
